I’m a licensed therapist (LMFT & LMHC, WA & NM) specializing in systems work — couples, families, and organizations — as well as individuals wanting to understand themselves and how they function securely in relationship. I also work with other therapists and medical professionals drawn to experiential, body-based approaches to change.
My clinical approach integrates established protocols with evidence-informed modalities — among them PACT, Somatic Experiencing, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and learning theory. I study how our histories and trauma shape our capacity for connection. Underneath that, I share an understanding with cultures across time and place, one that Western psychology is only beginning to catch up to: that we are not separate — from each other, or from the wider web of life — as we’re taught to believe. We are shaped — behaviorally, neurologically, relationally — by the networks we’re embedded in. Much of what brings people to therapy — relational rupture, isolation, loss we haven’t yet integrated, even the grief of climate collapse — is the cost of that separation.
I spent my early career in end-of-life care, sitting with hundreds of people as they died, and with their loved ones as they grieved. That work taught me more about living, loss, and what actually matters — and it’s shaped how I approach every transition my clients face now, including through ritual and ceremony, which I continue to hold as essential parts of navigating life’s biggest thresholds.
I don’t think therapy can be neutral. It takes courage to name the hierarchies — of race, gender, and class — that decide whose voice counts, whose safety matters, and who belongs, along with the broader systemic forces like ecological collapse and polarization that show up in the therapy room whether we acknowledge them or not, so I do. Kindness and justice aren’t separate values to me; they’re the same practice, aimed in different directions. I bring this into my clinical supervision, my teaching as adjunct faculty at Seattle University, and the community dialogues I facilitate.
